Donald Trump Jr has said he intends to pass some of his time isolating after a positive Covid-19 test cleaning his guns.

In a video posted on Instagram, Mr Trump Jr asked for Netflix and e-book recommendations as he said: “I may have a couple days of solo time and there’s only so many guns I can clean before that gets bored.”

The son of US president Donald Trump said he had experienced no symptoms of the virus but would continue to isolate out of "an abundance of precaution".

Apparently I got the rona

"Apparently I got the rona," he said in the video.

"You wouldn't know it based on anything I have felt or, you know, have seen or, I guess I've been totally asymptomatic," he said.

"Out of an abundance of precaution I'll quarantine, I'll follow the regular protocols, you know, take it seriously."

Mr Trump Jr added he was tested for the virus as he was due to take a father-son trip with his son after "basically being on the road non-stop for a few months."

On Friday, it first emerged that Mr Trump Jr had tested positive for Covid-19 at the start of the week.

He has been "quarantining at his cabin since the result," a spokesman said.

"He's been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended Covid-19 guidelines," the spokesman added.

Andrew Giuliani, the son of the president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, also said he tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.
