Heavy snow in southern France has brought down power lines and trees and left one person dead.

The snowfall has also caused widespread traffic disruption.

The thick snow, that started falling on Thursday, caused power cuts to 330,000 homes in six regions across the country.

Authorities in the Isere region reported that a man was killed by a falling tree.
