Police try to trace parents of toddler found wandering street

A toddler has been taken to hospital after she was found wandering alone in a town street in Scotland.

A passer-by called police when he found the girl, believed to be around 18 months to two years old, on the corner of Abbotsford Drive and Glenbervie Road in Grangemouth at around 2pm today.

The girl has been taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for a check-up.

When found, the child was wearing a pink and grey Adidas top, pink trousers and one black boot.

Police are now urgently trying to trace the girl’s parents or guardians.

Chief Inspector Mandy Paterson said: “The little girl was noticed by a concerned passer-by who then called the police when he realised she was on her own.

“Officers have carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area but we are now appealing to the wider public to find out the identity of the girl.

“She was found wearing a pink and grey Adidas top, pink trousers and one black boot. I would urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
