Gardaí are appealing for information on a pensioner missing from the Rathmines area of Dublin since this afternoon.

88-year-old Kevin Carroll from Terenure is on medication and suffers from dementia.

He was seen heading from Rathmines towards Dublin city centre at around 4pm today.

He is five foot eight tall, weighs around 11 stone and has white hair.

He was wearing a wine-coloured jacket and navy trousers.
