A Garda investigation is underway into the alleged misuse of public money by a lobby group for Hepatitis C patients.
The inquiry follows a HSE audit which found that Positive Action misspent significant amounts of its public funding between 2009 and 2013.
The audit found Positive Action spent state funds of €2.3m on the likes of lobster dinners, dog kennels, manicures and Angel healing.
The group collapsed earlier this year with debts of more than €100,000.
The Public Accounts Committee is looking into the spending, but it has emerged that the HSE knew how funds were being spent.
