A man has been injured following a workplace accident in Co Kerry.

A man has been injured following a workplace accident in Co Kerry.

The incident happened at around 9 o'clock this morning at the Kerry Agri-business Store in Castleisland when the man who works at the store, was opening a gate on the premises when it fell and hit him.

The ambulance service was notified and the man, who's in his sixties, was taken to Kerry General Hospital but it's not thought his injuries are life threatening.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
