Irish people pay more for medicine that any other EU country
Irish people pay more for medicines than any other country in the EU, according to OECD figures.
We paid €642 per capita on drugs, compared to the OECD average of €458.
The figures which are detailed in the Sunday Business Post put Ireland third in the developed world when it comes to spending on medicines.
That's in spite of a deal negotiated by government with the pharmaceutical companies that was supposed to bring down costs.
