Missing teenager located safe and well in Sligo

Fifteen-year-old Sait Canbulla has been located safe and well in Ballymote, Co Sligo this afternoon, gardaí have confirmed.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance in this matter," gardaí said in a statement.

Sait had not been seen since Saturday afternoon when The CRI alert is issued nationwide through the media and transport and police networks.

It was initially reported that he had been bundled into the back of a car by two men at the junction of High Street and Rowe Street in Wexford around Saturday lunchtime.

The Garda press office later said that following extensive enquiries, detectives were satisfied that the teenager had not been abducted and that he had not been forced into the car, and the alert was cancelled.
