A Dublin man who posted a picture of a dismembered doll to a former workmate as part of his "rape fantasy" has been jailed for three years.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told Gardaí he wanted to make her feel scared to live out his fantasy.

The victim was not in court today, and the judge described how she has since left Dublin because of what happened and still lives in fear.

While on holiday in June of last year, the woman received a menacing text from a number she did not recognise.

She reported it to Gardaí and the following month, she was sent a letter with three pictures.

One was an image of her taken from her Facebook page, superimposed onto a picture of her front door.

The others were of a dismembered doll and a hanged woman.

Gardaí tracked the man down and seized laptops and USB keys from his home.

He was jailed for three years today and ordered not to communicate with the woman for ten years from today.
