Police are treating the sudden death of a woman in west Belfast as suspicious and have arrested a man.

Police are treating the sudden death of a woman in west Belfast as suspicious and have arrested a man.

The 30-year-old’s body was discovered in a house in the Derryveagh Close area of Lenadoon this morning.

Officers were called to the house around 6.25 am.

A 36-year-old man has been detained for questioning.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said a post-mortem examination would be carried out to determine the cause of death.

“At this stage police are treating the death as suspicious,” he said.

The police said no further details on the investigation would be released at this stage.
