A man's body has been found at a house on the outskirts of Tullow, Co Carlow.

A man's body has been found at a house on the outskirts of Tullow, Co Carlow.

A second man has been found suffering from serious injuries, and has been brought to hospital for treatment.

Gardaí are at the scene, and the man's death is being treated as suspicious.

The discovery was made shortly after 9 o'clock this morning at the Graigeowen estate on the Carlow Road in Tullow.

People in a neighbouring house contacted gardai after hearing a noise coming from the property.

Upon their arrival, gardai found the man's body and a second man with serious injuries.

He was rushed by ambulance to St. Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny, where he is currently being treated.

The body of the dead man remains at the scene, which has been sealed off for a technical examination by a Garda forensic team.

Its believed the two men are Latvian nationals who had been renting the house, but the nature of the injuries they suffered are unclear.

The services of the office of the State Pathologist have also been requested.

Gardai are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
