A 27-year-old man has been arrested after the seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of €110,000 in Waterford city.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after the seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of €110,000 in Waterford city.

The man was arrested yesterday evening during a planned search by gardaí of an apartment at Penrose Court, Penrose Lane, Waterford.

During the course of the search gardaí discovered 5.5kg of cannabis herb with an approximate street value of €110,000.

The arrested man is being detained at Waterford Garda station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
