Ryan Serhant decided it was time to take the next big step with his girlfriend Emilia Bechrakis, but an ordinary proposal was never going to do the trick as Ryan wanted to give his beloved a proposal for the ages.
Ryan is a man on the rise, as a high-flying real estate agent he was selected for a role on Million Dollar Listing New York, where he showcases high value listings in the Big Apple.
The show (and Ryan) has proved amazingly popular in the States being renewed for a fourth season in July. Serhant even grabbed a small role in the film While We're Young, joining Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts and Amanda Seyfried in the flick due out this month in the US.
Emilia has appeared on Ryan's show on a few occasions and on Sunday he set up something really special to ask for her hand.
In order to pull off his plan to shut down one of busiest places in the world, Ryan had to enlist the help of the New York major’s office, the Times Square Alliance and 50 NYPD officers to cordon off New York’s famous square, so that the couple could have it to themselves for a whole hour.
So at 7am in the morning they managed to clear the area and it’s an awe-inspiring sight to witness the usually packed Times Square empty.
Of course Emilia said 'yes' after Ryan dropped to his knee to ask the most important question of his life and he told eonline.com that it was worth all the work to set it up.
"No one has ever done something like this. But I'm only going to propose once in my life, so I wanted to make sure that I did something special.
"It worked! This is the most incredible day! Words really can't describe what I'm feeling," said Ryan.
The blushing bride-to-be was a little stunned by it all.
"This was a complete surprise,” added Emilia. “I was not expecting this at all. He's really outdone himself!"
After Ryan posted the photo on his Facebook account yesterday the post has been shared almost 5,000 times.
Best of luck to Ryan and Emilia, nice to see there is still romance out there.
