The mother of four and grandmother of four, with another grandchild on the way, told about the excitement in her family since her big win on Friday.

She said: "My sister Michelle bought me my TellyBingo ticket for luck last week. We both love playing TellyBingo.

"I used to enjoy playing with my mother. She’s passed on and I know she’s dancing up there now."

The lucky ticket was purchased in Londis, Newtown, Cobh, Co. Cork.

Catherine said: "So I’d got down to the last three numbers on my ticket and then they all came up in a row and I had a Fullhouse. I couldn’t believe it - that’s €10,000!

"My grandson was with me and he was dancing around the place, he was so excited.

"I got on the phone to my sister Michelle, and said I’m after winning €10,000! She told me to relax and calmed me down before telling me I’d actually won the Snowball prize of €60,000. My sister was over the moon for me."

Speaking of her plans for her winnings, Catherine said: "I’ll use the money to do up my kitchen and bedroom and then I’ll take a trip to New Jersey in The States to visit my brother.

"He’s lived there for 36 years but it’ll be my first ever trip to America. I look forward to spending Thanksgiving with him and his family."
