Two Irishmen have died on Mont Blanc, it has emerged today.

Two Irishmen have died on Mont Blanc, it has emerged today.

The two men, aged in their 30s and 50s respectively, lost their lives in a fall on the mountain in France yesterday.

Their identities have not yet been officially released, although one of the men is understood to be from the South East.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says its providing consular assistance to their families, including through the embassy in Paris.
