Gardaí investigating a serious sexual assault in Dublin last Thursday evening have today arrested a man.

Gardaí investigating a serious sexual assault in Dublin last Thursday evening have today arrested a man.

The man, aged in his mid 30s, was arrested at 9am this morning in the Dublin area.

He was taken to Kevin St Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

Investigations are ongoing.

A woman has claimed that she was sexually assaulted after meeting a man on the Tinder dating app.

It is alleged that she met him in the city centre before being abducted and taken to an industrial estate near the M50.
