Michael McGrath hopeful that Banking Inquiry draft report will be ready by the weekend

One of the members of the Banking Inquiry says he is confident that a draft report will be ready by Thursday's deadline.

Michael McGrath says that work on the report is inching forward, and that all members of the committee have given feedback on the draft.

Members have until 6pm tomorrow to table amendments to the report.

Michael McGrath says he is hopeful that they'll have a report by the weekend.

"Our work is inching forward it is a painstaking process going through a draft report line-by-line.

"I think very good progress is being made, it remains a very challenging process because of the really serious time constraints we're operating under, but I'm confident that we will get a report finalised and hopefully agreed in draft form by the weekend."
