Gardaí are investigating after a bomb was found outside a house in Tallaght yesterday.

Gardaí are investigating after a bomb was found outside a house in Tallaght yesterday.

The army bomb squad were called to the scene outside a home in the Glenshane area of Jobstown.

They made it safe without the need for a controlled explosion but confirmed it was a viable improvised explosive device.

It has now been brought to a secure military location for further examination.

The device was found by a member of the public.
