Six due in court over drugs seizure

Five men and a teenager are due in court in connection with the sale and supply of drugs in Dublin's north inner city.

Seven people were arrested this morning following a six-week covert investigation targeting drug dealing in the St. Mary's Mansions area.

Operation Hesitate was sparked by tip-offs from locals. PVP worth around €17,000 was discovered along with cannabis, drugs equipment and a car.

Chief Superintendent Pat Leahy said PVP has only become available in the last six weeks. He said gardaí believe eight "key players" responsible for the supply, and seven of those are in custody.

PVP, or alpha-pyrrolidinovalerophenone, is a synthetic drug that started to appear in the US in 2013.
