Two opinion polls published in today's newspapers show very different changes in support for the Government, with one reporting a large drop in support for Fine Gael and the other reporting an increase.

An opinion poll published in today's Sunday Times reveals a nine point drop for Fine Gael, to 21.

That is just one point ahead of Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein, on 20%, while the survey puts the Labour Party at 9%.

In contrast, a Millward Brown survey in the Sunday Independent shows a rise in support for Fine Gael to 29%, up two, with Labour falling two to 6.

That poll puts Fianna Fail at 22%, Sinn Fein on 20% and Independents at 23%.
