A pensioner has been killed in a road traffic accident in west Cork.

A pensioner has been killed in a road traffic accident in west Cork.

The woman in her 60s was the driver of a car which collided with a minibus and a second car in Schull at around 4pm this afternoon.

The female driver of the minibus was taken to Cork University Hospital, but is not thought to be seriously injured.

There were no passengers on board at the time of the crash.

The female driver of the second car wasn't hurt.

The road remains closed this evening and forensic investigators are examining the scene.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the crash and anyone with information is asked to contact Bantry Garda Station on 027 20860.
