Gardaí in Cork are investigating after the remains of a newborn baby were found at a house in the city.

Gardaí in Cork are investigating after the remains of a newborn baby were found at a house in the city.

The body was found in a bin yesterday afternoon.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out by assistant State pathologist Margaret Bolster later at Cork University Hospital, which will determine the course of the investigation.
