A two-year-old boy had died after he was hit by a van in Tipperary last night.

A two-year-old boy had died after he was hit by a van in Tipperary last night.

The crash happened just before 8pm on the Rosanna Road in Tipperary Town.

Gardaí attended the scene and administered CPR. He was brought by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The driver and passenger of the van were uninjured.

The road has been closed for a forensic collision examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
