Meanwhile, Eoin Reddan will have surgery on the broken leg he suffered in the draw with France.

Brian O'Driscoll, Luke Marshall and Donnacha Ryan all face a race against time to be fit for Saturdays game but Jonathan Sexton is expected to be back from a hamstring injury.

The Irish management team will issue an injury update at lunchtime today.
