Ireland's east coast will enjoy highs of up to 27C today, making it one of the hottest days of the year.
Met Éireann says temperatures in the mid to late 20s are unusual for this time of year in Ireland.
The good spell may be short-lived however - Met Éireann forecaster Clara Finkele said we had been lucky so far this summer and that it may not continue.
"Temperatures will rise over the east to between 24C and 27C today and tomorrow," she said.
"There will be a change for Saturday and Sunday however, with slightly cooler and fresher conditions. In June, we had a 28C day so we have had a very good run over the summer so far."
It will be more mixed elsewhere in the country, with some scattered downpours in the west and cloudy conditions in the south.
