Cool customer Sharon Murphy reveals inspiration behind penalty that forced All-Ireland final replay

Fermanagh's ladies junior football hero, Sharon Murphy, has talked about her penalty goal in the dying seconds that rescued a 2-10 3-7 draw for Fermanagh in Sunday’s dramatic TG4 All-Ireland ladies junior football final at Croke Park.

With less than a minute to go in the decider, and her county three points behind Derry, Sharon stepped up to the penalty spot knowing that it was down to her to give her teammates a second crack at the title.

She revealed that it was the first time taking a spot-kick in the Championship for Fermanagh which was given when Ciara Moore was adjudged to have fouled teenage star Eimear Smyth with just 48 seconds left on the watch.

Sharon revealed what was going through her mind as she stepped forward to slot her penalty past Cheree Mackey.

She said: "I tried not to think about it, I know how games go. We played in Thurles in a semi-final and there was 40 seconds left, we were winning by three points and we lost by a point in the end.

"That always stuck in my mind, you never give up, no matter what, [no matter] what is left on the clock."

And here she is coolly slotting the score away.

Both sides will have to do it all over again on October 8.
