US Vice-President joins the 'selfie' generation

The selfie craze has now reached the very top of the White House.

US Vice-President Joe Biden has posted a picture of himself and President Barack Obama, after creating an Instagram account under the name 'VP'.

The caption states: "Found a friend to join my first selfie on Instagram. Thanks for following and stay tuned. –VP".

After just 12 hours on the site Biden had more than 40,000 followers.

It's not the first time President Obama has taken part in the craze. He famously posed for a selfie with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt during the Nelson Mandela memorial, apparently much to the chagrin of his wife Michelle.
