Never mind - a message from the Limerick legend is something to treasure - splutters and all.

Paul O’Connell had great difficulty playing his part in this wedding video

Newlyweds JP Donelon and Yvonne Lindsay received some very special wedding wishes from Irish rugby stars, but the biggest name of all got completely tongue-tied.

Best man Paul McGrath started work on his speech well in advance, recording messages of congratulations for the couple at an open Irish rugby training session in Galway before last year’s World Cup.

Jamie Heaslip, Cian Healy, Sean O’Brien and others all wished them the best of luck - but Paul O’Connell needed a few tries to get it right.

JP’s nickname Flash seemed to be the cause of the problem, although Paulie also struggled with “best wishes”.

It’s unlikely the happy couple minded - a message from the Limerick legend is something to treasure - splutters and all.
