Operation Transformation finale: Here is how the leaders fared

RTÉ's latest series of Operation Transformation came to an end tonight and it is safe to say that it has been a memorable journey.

We have followed leaders Cathal Gallagher, Pamela Swayne, Siobhan O'Brien, Paul Murphy and Jean Tierney through all of the ups and downs of the past two months.

After weeks spent cheering them all through the challenges of the series, tonight we watched as they strutted their stuff on the catwalk and looked back at how far they have come.

The Limerick woman became an inspiration for many when she spoke about her previous heartbreak - in 2015, she had an ectopic pregnancy; in January 2018, she gave birth to a baby girl named Sloane who sadly died five days after being born and last September, Jean had a miscarriage.

Viewers were delighted to see her return for the finale and join the four other leaders whom she has said are like her brothers and sisters now.

Presenter Kathryn Thomas commented ahead of the finale, “I have so enjoyed this 12th series of Operation Transformation alongside old friends and new.

Our five leaders have been an inspiration to viewers right across the country, with Jean’s story particularly touching hearts, not least my own! I wish them all health and happiness in the future.

While the group have shed over 10 stone in the last two months, they have gained plenty of confidence and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations to them all!
