Ten people aged from 14 to 19 have been arrested by gardaí investigating a series of robberies and assaults in Dublin this summer.
The arrests were made this morning during a series of raids in Dublin and Louth which involved a total of 70 gardaí.
"The ten arrested persons are all Irish and range in ages from 14 years to 19 years and are made up of seven males and 3 females," a garda statement said.
The offences, carried out in the Dublin 2 area, range from robberies from the person to assaults to thefts.
Those arrested have been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Terenure, Sundrive Road, Irishtown, Mountjoy and Store Street Garda Stations. All can be detained for a maximum period of 24 hours.
Gardaí from Pearse Steet, Kevin Stret, Kilmainham, Terenure, Rathmines, Irishtown, Donnybrook, Mountjoy, Store Street, Fitzgibbon Street and Bridewell Garda Stations took part in the operation.
