Reports claim the Premier League champions are looking to increase their homegrown options in the summer.

Rice has played three games for Ireland, but has now declared for England.

City could play around £70m for the London born midfielder, who is seen as a replacement for Fernandinho, say The Sun.

Meanwhile, City's owners say they are looking nurture Chinese talent.

City Football Group have bought a stake in Chinese third-tier club Sichuan Jiuniu.

They are already majority owners of New York City and Melbourne City clubs.
