AIB made an ad of the Kerry native choosing to win €2000 for his native Ardfert rather than go into Croke Park to cheer on Kerry.

Unbeknownst to John the guys from AIB had swapped his ticket before filming him tearing up what he thought was his valid ticket. As a result he got to go to the game after all and was also given the money for his beloved club.

AIB have made a follow-up video showing John talking about what his club means to him and what the money will be spent on.

They also interviewed other people from the village about what John sacrifice meant to Ardfert GAA - it sounds like he won’t be allowed buy his own drinks down the local for quite some time.
