And now some smart alec has decided to twist the knife that bit more - by posting a highly sarcastic ad for the county’s ‘team bus’ on Done Deal.

Posted by a private seller who signs himself JBM - the description of the bus will add fresh insult to the injuries Cork fans have suffered.

It is advertised as having “low mileage” as it “rarely goes to Dublin”, with “a good few dents and a boot full of broken dreams”.

Prospective buyers are warned that it is “well able for trips to Wexford but struggles with multiple journeys to Killarney and Thurles”.

Also, it is “known to go missing when needed most”.

Ouch.

The bus is offered “free to a good home” subject to one important condition: “Owner must be able to mimic the Corkonian tongue to use the recently installed hands free device 'Siri Barry Murphy'”.
