Man arrested in connection with Newbridge house fire

Gardaí have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the investigation into a house fire which occurred at Millfield Manor estate, Newbridge, County Kildare this afternoon, Tuesday 31st March 2015 at approximately 4pm.

Gardaí have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the investigation into a house fire which occurred at Millfield Manor estate, Newbridge, County Kildare this afternoon.

The man was arrested this evening and is currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

Gardaí and Fire Service attended the scene and a number of houses were evacuated.

Six properties were extensively damaged. All occupants have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
