High Court to consider Gorse Hill lock-in

Solicitor Brian O’Donnell has left his South Dublin home for the Four Courts where his case is set to be heard this morning.

Mr O’Donnell, who owes Bank of Ireland over €70 million - had barricaded himself inside his Gorse Hill home in Killiney since Monday and is refusing to comply with court orders to vacate the property.

Brian O’Donnell left his home on Killiney’s Vico Road shortly after 8am this morning, despite the deadline to leave the property having expired at 4pm yesterday afternoon.

Mr O’Donnell and his wife Mary Patricia had effectively been barricaded inside Gorse Hill since Monday morning, aided by members of the group calling itself the Land League.

A bid by their adult children to have the repossession of the house blocked was rejected by the High Court on Tuesday.

A receiver appointed by Bank of Ireland will go to the High Court this morning to seek a trespass injunction.
