Central Bank 'drops plans for geothermal-wells heating at new HQ'
The Central Bank has reportedly abandoned plans to install a multi-million Euro heating system in its new headquarters.
Pipes were laid for 'geothermal wells' by the original builder who planned a state-of-the-art HQ for Anglo Irish Bank on Dublin's North Wall Quay.
However, The Sunday Times has reported that the Central Bank, who took over the building after Anglo's collapse, decided not to use the high-tech heating system, worth €2m.
The pipes remain in the foundations and could be used in the future, however.
The Central Bank building includes a seventh-floor café with a terrace and an area for yoga and Pilates.
