'High-speed chase' underway in Cork; garda injured

There are reports of a high-speed chase underway in Cork, and that a garda has been injured after he came off his motorcycle as part of the chase.

There are reports of a high-speed chase underway in Cork, and that a garda has been injured after he came off his motorcycle as part of the chase.

It is reported that the chase concerns a van used in a Cork burglary, and that the garda came off his motorcycle in the Rathduff area, roughly half way between Cork city and Mallow.

It is understood the chase began on Parnell Place in the city after a van crashed into a parked car, moved on to Summerhill South and on out towards Mallow on the N20.
