Greyhound talks at 'advanced' stage, court proceedings adjourned

The High Court has heard that talks aimed at ending the dispute at Greyhound Recycling are at an "advanced" stage.

The row over pay cuts ended up before the courts after trucks were allegedly blocked from collecting bins by striking workers.

78 workers at Greyhound Recycling claim they have been locked out of their jobs since mid-June when bosses tried to slash wages by over a third.

Non-striking workers claim they would still be paid above the industry norm and pleaded with them to stop disrupting business for the sake of their jobs.

This day last week, contempt proceedings were adjourned to see if some sort of agreement could be reached to put an end to this three-month dispute.

This morning, the court heard that negotiations are at an advanced stage and both parties are hopeful of a finding a full and acceptable resolution.

Workers and management agreed to work equally hard to overcome remaining issues and the matter was adjourned for one more week.
