Justice Minister says decision on appealing Ian Bailey's extradition status will be made in coming days
The Justice Minister has addressed the High Courts refusal to extradite Ian Bailey to France.
Authorities there applied for him to be surrendered after deciding he should stand trial for the voluntary homicide of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
The High Court refused to extradite him because of a Supreme Court ruling in 2012 that blocked the initial attempt to have him handed over.
Charlie Flanaghan has said a decision on an appeal will be made over the coming days.
"That decision was made yesterday by the courts, I am currently studying the decision, the matter of the appeal is something that will be taken in early course over the next few days," he said.
