Couple hospitalised following aggravated burglary
A man and woman are in hospital following an aggravated burglary in Kingscourt, County Cavan last night.
Three masked raiders entered the house and assaulted the couple after 6.30pm yesterday evening.
The alarm was raised with gardaí at 8pm last night following the hour long ordeal.
The masked gang broke into the house at Cron a man near Kingscourt just before 7pm last night.
They tied up the woman and assaulted her husband who had returned home during the raid.
The couple were both assaulted by the gang and remain in hospital today at our lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.
The raiders left the scene by stealing their Land Rover.
Its registration number is 07 CN 3857.
Gardai say no other cash or property was taken and they are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 042-96 94 570.
