A woman has died in a two car collision in County Meath.

One dead and four hospitalised following Meath car crash

A woman has died in a two car collision in County Meath.

It is understood the crash happened on the Dublin Monaghan road at Waterside Great, Duleek at about 10.20pm last night.

The female passenger of one of the cars lost her life in the incident - she was in her twenties - while four others; two men and two women were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The road between Slane and Ashbourne remains closed.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
