Four accused of interrogating Cahill will not meet Taoiseach, says solicitor

The solicitor of the four people accused of interrogating Mairia Cahill over her allegations of rape says he will not allow them to meet Enda Kenny.

Solicitor Peter Madden, of Madden and Finucane solicitors in Belfast, says a meeting would undermine the review currently being carried out by the prosecution service in the North.

Earlier this week, the Taoiseach said he was prepared to meet the four, following a request by Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams.

However, in a letter to the Taoiseach, the solicitor says the four were acquitted of all charges - and debating the issue in the Dáil and in Stormont is undermining the court's rulings.
