A quantity of firearms has been seized in Dublin during an operation by the Gardai Special Crime Task-Force on Drugs and Organised Crime.

A quantity of firearms has been seized in Dublin during an operation by the Gardai Special Crime Task-Force on Drugs and Organised Crime.

Gardai say a search was carried out yesterday evening in the Botanic Avenue area of the city as part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin region.

They recovered a hand gun and ammunition which are now undergoing ballistic examination.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
