A man has died after suffering a serious head injury in Bray, Co Wicklow, yesterday morning.

Latest: Post-mortem underway after man (45) dies in Bray

Latest: A post-mortem exam is taking place this evening on the body of a man who was found with serious head injuries in Co Wicklow.

He died in hospital this morning.

The 45-year-old was found unconscious on the Main Street in Bray outside The Royal Hotel in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Gardaí say that the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.

They are asking for anyone who was in the area at the time, to contact them.

Earlier: Man dies from serious head injury in Bray

A man has died after suffering a serious head injury in Bray, Co Wicklow, yesterday morning.

The 45-year-old man was found unconscious outside a hotel on Main St in the town at around 2am yesterday with the injury.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment, but he died in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí are investigating to determine whether or not an assault took place and a post-mortem will be carried out today by Dr Michael Curtis.
