A man in his 40s was stopped and questioned at Dublin Port yesterday while he was attempting to board a ferry to Holyhead with a large amount of cash.

The Revenue Commisioners said that as a result of an intelligence-led operation they seized €168,000 from the man, who is Irish.

Judge Michael Walsh granted a three-month detention order in the Criminal Courts so that Revenue could carry out further investigations.
