Gardaí are investigating a two vehicle collision in County Wicklow, in which a man in his sixties died.

Gardaí are investigating a two vehicle collision in County Wicklow, in which a man in his sixties died.

It happened at the crossroads in Kilcarney Lower at approximately 10.15am today.

A man in his early 60’s was fatally injured when the jeep he was driving was involved in a collision with a truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Naas Hospital.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 20’s, was arrested in connection with the collision, and was detained at Baltinglass Garda Station, he was later released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Baltinglass Garda Station.
