Failte Ireland have announced Ireland's best tourism towns.

Westport and Kinsale were chosen from a shortlist of ten in the awards.

Westport in Co Mayo is the 2014 Large Tourism Town, while Kinsale in Co Cork scooped National Small Tourism Town.

They each receive a grant of €5,000 towards further development as a tourist destination.

Other commended towns are Ardmore and Lismore in Co. Waterford; Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim; Cobh and Glengarriff in Cork; Kilkenny city and Killarney and Portmagee in Co. Kerry.
