Dhara Kivlehan's husband: We need answers on Dhara's death

The husband of an Indian woman who died in Belfast's Victoria Hospital four days after giving birth at Sligo General Hospital in 2010 has said he and his son need answers about the circumstances of her death.

Thirty-five-year-old Michael Kivlehan from Dromahair was speaking at the inquest in Leitrim into his wife Dhara Kivlehan's death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Dhara - originally from India but living in Dromahair - died on September 24, 2010, at Belfast's Victoria Hospital, after giving birth four days earlier in Sligo General Hospital.

She died from multi-organ failure after suffering severe pre-eclampsia.

The inquest into her death is underway at Carrick-on-Shannon Co Leitrim.

Shannonside reporter Denise Canavan said the inquest will hear from 14 different witnesses, including from both hospitals.
