The Health Minister has signed laws reducing prescription charges for those with medical cards.

The Health Minister, Simon Harris has signed laws reducing prescription charges for those with medical cards.

The measures were announced in the budget.

From January 1, medical card holders will pay €2 an item instead of €2.50.

Minister Harris says he wants to build on that and further reduce prescription costs in the coming years.
