An angler has told Graham Dwyer's murder trial that he fished out bondage cuffs, a black blindfold and a rubber ball gag from the lake at Roundwood in September 2013.
William Fegan has said the water levels in the Vartry reservoir in Wicklow were particularly low, around 12-18 inches, following the hot summer.
He said that he was with his brother and a friend making sure nobody was illegally fishing in the reservoir when they noticed a rope and a shiny object and proceeded to fish out the items.
The group he was with left the items on a wall but he returned to the bridge at Roundwood the following morning because he had a niggling feeling that something wasn't right.
He told the Central Criminal Court that he put the items in a bag and contacted gardaí.
This was three days before Elaine O'Hara's skeletal remains were found in the Dublin Mountains at Killakee.
Garda James Donohue did three follow up searches at the reservoir and uncovered a knife, a bondage mask with zips and a set of keys with a Dunnes Stores loyalty card which belonged to the missing woman.
Graham Dwyer of Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies the charge of murdering childcare worker Ms O'Hara, who died in the Dublin Mountains in August 2012.
